How this planner calculates
For events up to four hours, start with one portable toilet per 50 guests and round up. For up to six hours, add half that starting count, rounded up. For up to eight hours, double the starting count. If alcohol is served, add one unit for every five in the duration-adjusted quantity, rounding that addition up.
Use the result to compare event scenarios, then confirm the final arrangement. It is a planning assumption, not the City’s permit minimum. Corona’s event guidance, existing bathrooms, queues and service between sessions can all affect the equipment you book.
Worked examples
| Guests and duration | Calculation | Starting quantity |
|---|---|---|
| 50 guests · 4 hours · no alcohol | 50 ÷ 50 | 1 |
| 100 guests · 4 hours · no alcohol | 100 ÷ 50 | 2 |
| 100 guests · 6 hours · no alcohol | 2 + 1 for duration | 3 |
| 100 guests · 6 hours · alcohol | 3 + 1 for alcohol service | 4 |
| 200 guests · 8 hours · no alcohol | 4 × 2 | 8 |
Plan accessible facilities and washing separately
The calculator estimates total portable toilets; it does not determine the accessible mix. Review each restroom cluster and its approach when selecting designated ADA units. Add soap-and-water washing, supplies and replenishment to the same plan.
Look at the busiest period
Count people present at the busiest moment, not just tickets across a whole day. Let us know when meal service, ceremonies or intermissions concentrate demand. If separate groups share the same toilets, include their overlap; for repeat sessions, allow for cleaning and replenishment.
Talk through the final plan
Bring the starting quantity to the rental conversation together with the venue address, dates and existing facilities. We’ll review the equipment mix, access and servicing before preparing the complete quote.
